Our Weekend in Park City, Utah

Rick and I went to Park City, Utah for the long weekend over Thanksgiving!  Neither of us had ever been to Utah, and we were just dying to go (and I was dying to see some snow lol).  I figured I would share what we did while we were there!!

We flew into the Salt Lake airport, which was SO nice.  Park City is about 45 minutes away from SLC, but instead of renting a car, we Ubered (the potential of driving around snow covered mountains scared me lol).  Our hotel also had a free shuttle for anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel, so we really didn’t need a car.

Let me just say that luxury hotels are probably my number one weakness lol.  We stayed at the St. Regis Deer Valley, which was SUCH a nice hotel—definitely worth the five stars.  This hotel is pricey, but with all the amenities, along with the location, I think it was worth it.  Plus, we saved money by staying here in between seasons.  The official winter season didn’t start until the weekend after we stayed there.  Neither of us is a skier/snowboarder/winter sport person, so this was totally fine with us!

Before we went on the trip, the hotel concierge had asked if we were going for any specific occasion.  I had said we were going for our anniversary.  The first night of our stay, the concierge sent up a complimentary gorgeous chocolate display, along with a bottle of champagne.  It was so, so beautiful and nice of them, and we truly appreciated it.

Because the St. Regis Deer Valley does have so many amenities, we spent a lot of our time at the hotel!!  We really wanted a relaxing, chill getaway, so this was perfect.  At 5:30pm every day, the hotel does a traditional champagne sabering on the mountain terrace overlooking the valley, which was so fun to watch!  After the sabering, they hand out the champagne, and you can sit outside and enjoy it or you can take it back to your room.  Additionally, between 5 and 7 every night, the hotel hands out complimentary s’mores that you can assemble at one of their fire pits!  The hotel also has a GORGEOUS heated pool with 2 hot tubs and 2 saunas.  The pool area is absolutely stunning, and the contrast between the snow covered trees/ pool chairs and the steamy heated hot tub is completely unreal.

There is a ski slope pretty much next to the hotel.  It was covered in snow when we were there.  There are also some beautiful trails.  My favorite part of the trip was probably walking along the snow covered trails under the canopy of pine trees.  I honestly don’t think there is anything that could be that peaceful.  And if you are into winter sports, this is perfect for you.  The ski slope is literally right beside the hotel lol.

We also went into town a few times!!  The hotel shuttle took us straight to Main Street, which was SO CUTE.  Park City used to be a mining town, so Main Street looked like something out of an old western movie (or at least what I think would be in an old western movie because I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen one lol).  We had a great time walking in and out of all the shops on Main Street.  Regarding COVID, the majority of people were wearing masks, and all the stores/ restaurants we went to required masks, too.  The restaurants also did a great job of socially distancing the tables.

For Thanksgiving dinner, we went to Courchevel Bistro on Main Street.  This restaurant had an adorable interior, and the food was great!  Because I’m currently wheat/dairy/egg free, I was worried about them being able to accommodate all my restrictions since they had a set Thanksgiving menu.  However, they were great!! They were so understanding, and the dinner was really delicious.  The only thing I couldn’t eat were the mashed potatoes!  I would love to go back to this restaurant to try the regular menu.

Another restaurant we went to was 501 On Main.  WOW THIS RESTAURANT!!!  With so many food restrictions, it’s hard for me to find a restaurant where I have a lot of options.  BUT at 501 On Main, I had tons of choices!  This restaurant is gluten free/ vegetarian/ vegan friendly.  We had the seared ahi tuna, the tomato basil soup, and the flat iron steak with salad.  All of it was delicious!!  Even Rick, who has no food restrictions, loved this place!  I HIGHLY recommend 501 On Main—10/10!

No Name Saloon is a bar we went to twice!!  The first time, we sat inside.  The interior was covered in Christmas lights, the vibe was super kitschy, and the drinks were great.  We loved it so much that we went back another day.  The second time, we sat on the roof top, which had heaters and was so comfy! They also have really great bison burgers.

The last bar we went to was the Spur Bar & Grill!  The drinks here were great.  They also had a food menu, which looked really good.

Besides these places, we pretty much just ate at our hotel.  The St. Regis has 3 restaurants and a bar, plus room service.  The food was delicious, and they were great about dealing with my food restrictions as well!!

The only issue we had on our trip was that the fireplace in the room wasn’t continuously working.  I can’t complain, though, because the hotel was so great about dealing with it.  Not only did they send engineers in to fix it numerous times, but they also discounted our stay since it wasn’t working for a majority of the trip.

Overall, we loved Park City, we loved our hotel, and we really just loved the whole experience.  I would definitely go back, and would also love to go during summer!!  I highly recommend for anyone contemplating going.

Have you ever been to Park City?  If so, did you love it?!
